CMT Level 1 Curriculum: An Introduction to Technical Analysis, CMT Association This is the Level I technical analysis curriculum compiled by the CMT Association for the CMT Level I exam. As the main study text, it is very methodically and systematically organised around the theories and concepts tested in the exam. The book gives readers a comprehensive and complete view of technical analysis. The Level II and Level III curricula correspond to the CMT Level II and Level III exams. These two books go deeper into the concepts and theories introduced at Level I and add further material on more advanced applications of technical indicators, portfolio management, building trading systems and more. Technical Analysis: The Complete Resource for Financial Market Technicians, Charles D. Kirkpatrick II and Julie R. Dahlquist Before it had its own curriculum, the CMT Association used most of the content of this book as the reading material for its CMT programme. The book gives a fairly complete overview of the theoretical foundations of technical analysis and is regarded as the bedside book of technical analysis students. |

Vietnamese-language materials
Resources in Vietnamese are not as rich as foreign-language books: there is little Vietnamese material on technical analysis and it is still limited. However, some very well-known books on the fundamentals of technical analysis have been translated and published in Vietnam. Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets, John J. Murphy John J. Murphy is an American financial market analyst regarded as the father of intermarket analysis. He has written many books on financial analysis, especially technical analysis, and much of the CMT curriculum was also written by him. Of his books, this is the complete one, covering a great deal of the most fundamental knowledge of technical analysis, and I strongly encourage everyone to read it. Essentials of Technical Analysis for Financial Markets, James Chen The content and purpose of this book are quite similar to John J. Murphy’s Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets.
